During a two week timeframe, the youngest students were introduced to the daily life of ancient Egyptians, primarily looking at what life as a kid would look like. Before studying life as an ancient Egyptian, students reflected on their own daily life and routines. As a group, students completed a Venn Diagram by including events of their daily lives, which would establish similarities and differences of their own life and life in Ancient Egypt. Students then learned what daily tasks, family dynamics, games, toys, and schooling may have looked like in ancient Egypt. These two weeks concluded with watching a video of an ancient Egyptian boy describing his daily life as he journeyed down the Nile River. Students collectively wrote a journal log to tell a friend what the journey uncovered about daily life.
