Ancient India

The oldest group of students have been participating in a social studies unit on Ancient India. They began by studying the geography and location of Ancient India and comparing it to the present day location of India. They studied the climate and cities of Harappa and Mohejo-Daro. In small groups, the students performed a Jigsaw Activity. Each group researched and presented on the topics of the Aryans, Buddhism, Hinduism and the geography and climate of Ancient India. In depth discussions were had about many topics while watching The Story of India, a PBS documentary. Each student created their own ancient seal and wrote a magazine article describing the Silk Road, trade and attractions of Ancient India. In partners, they wrote stories to share with the youngest students describing the Aryan culture.
