At least twice a week, the kindergarteners and first graders have free art where they explore various mediums. We generally pull out at least two different mediums they can choose to work with such as acrylic paint, cardboard sculpture, playdough and modeling clay, watercolor paint, collage, chinese brush painting and pastels. We have been working with mixing colors to make new ones and mixing mediums within the same art piece. 

For kindergarteners, first and second graders, twice a week, we have had art projects that have focused on our science topics. For example, we made a 3D model poster of a flower, painted a still life of a vase of flowers, constructed a model cactus, decorated a recycled tin container to keep their spider plant in, and made seed art mosaics.
