During my time here so far I have had the opportunity to take over some of the art studio days. Since this is such a short period during the day, I really like to use it for the youngest children to explore! We have worked with watercolor, color mixing, and clay. We just recently have been introducing techniques to make hand built pots, through coils and pinching. All children tried the techniques and were interested in the different shapes that can happen with handles and intention. They also had a day dedicated to crayons vs oil pastels experimenting with the different textures of material. Some of them loved both mediums, some of them hated one, but they all participated excitingly!
