Our kindergartner and a few of the first grader students participate in a once a week class called Copy Word.  During this class, students are working on their fine motor skills through cutting and printing.  Each class, students get to look through magazines and pick one word to “copy” neatly and accurately onto their paper.  The word can be capitals, lower case or a combination.  They then cut out the word and glue it to the lined sheet of paper.  While students are writing and copying the word, the teacher is reminding them about how to form their letters and is working with them on letter placement.
