Listening to books read out loud is a favorite part of our day. At the end of each day children free draw in their sketch books as they listen to great stories by great authors.
This year the youngest children have listened to: Dan the Pawn, Trumpet of the Swan by E.B. White, Lafcadio by Shel Silv erstein and a series of books by Bill Peet: The Wump World, The Caboose who got Loose, Jethro and Joel were a Troll, The Gnat of Knotty Pine, Cockadoodle Duddly, Zella, Zack and Zodiac.
Children in the middle grades loved listening to Trumpet of the Swan by E.B. White, Danny Champion of the World by Roahl Dahl and 21 Balloons by William Pene du Bois.
The oldest children listened to the Last Book in the Universe by Rodman Philbrick, Down the Mysterly River by Bill Willingham, and My Diary from the Edge of the World by Jodi Lynn Anderson.
